A great way to end our time in Baseco was the Talent Show that the church organised. It was a great night and the best one ever according to the church. I was honoured to be chosen to be one of the judges. It was a difficult task as the acts kept getting better and better!
It was nice to see that so many people showed up to watch the 11 performances. Some of the acts included: hip hop dancing, singing, beatboxing, balancing, magic, etc. It was very hard to choose a winner because they were all so good and probably none of them have ever had a formal lesson in their life.

Cash prizes were given out to the top 4 performers: ₱5000 ($140), ₱3000 ($84), ₱2000 ($56), and ₱100 ($28) respectively. This might not seem like a lot of money to us but it is a lot of money for the locals and that is why some people are willing to come from far away to compete.
The winning act was called Magnificent Light. It is story-telling to light show and music (you can watch a video of the performance at the top of this page). The performer who won first prize had to travel three hours to come to Baseco! He was so good that he got 100% from all four judges for his amazing performance. He also said that he will be performing on Philippines Got Talent (TV show) this weekend!
There is clearly no shortage of talent in The Philippines!
